LOCATION

Solaris is located high above Chocolate Hole and Rendezvous Bay, 2 miles from Cruz Bay, St. John, in the United States Virgin Islands. St. John is the jewel of the Virgins with only twenty miles, two-thirds of which are square ml National Park land. Solaris is 7 minutes by jeep from town, shopping and the ferry to St. Thomas. Ten minutes away are the most beautiful white sand beaches and the finest snorkeling to be found anywhere in the eastern Caribbean. In addition to the exquisite National Park beaches, Solaris' guests have the privilege of access to Chocolate Hole, a lovely private bay -which possesses one of the best and most varied snorkeling beaches on the entire island just 2 minutes away! Chocolate Hole also offers an adventure for avid shelters: beautiful pieces of coral, bright sea-fans, and gorgeous tropical shells are common finds along its soft white sand shore. World class scuba diving sites abound in the sparkling-clear tropical waters surrounding St. John. A smorgasbord of restaurants from casual to luxury in style are nearby, as are two gourmet delis and several small grocery stores. Solaris is 2 minutes by jeep to the new Hyatt Regency Hotel. Also nearby are the famous Caneel Bay Hotel and Resort.

TRANSPORTATION Arrive in St. Thomas via jet from any major U.S. city and continue on to St. John by a 20-minute ferry trip from Red Hook, St. Thomas or from Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas (45 minutes). The most convenient local transportation is by rented jeep. Reservations can be made through Solaris' Property Manager. The cost is approximately $50 per day. THE SETTING A red-roofed white stucco luxury villa, Solaris is picturesquely situated high above Chocolate Hole and Rendezvous Bay, offering a stunning view of 5 pristine bays from any of its 4 large decks. This ideal location not only provides a sensational view but also opens........	......Solaris to breezy Tradewinds which keep the -house coot and comfortable year-round. The mountainous outline of the island of St. Croix, some 40 miles distant, graces the southern horizon. (Portions of the recent film Christopher Columbus-The Discovery were filmed in the bay just below Solaris Nestled amongst lush flowering gardens, Solaris sleeps eight to ten in four separate bedroom suites surrounding an enormous central tiled courtyard with fountain. A large pool with waterfall, decks, gazebo, and bar is located on the lower level. Decorator furnishings and every amenity grace this villa.
	THE HOUSE Solaris is a luxurious new, 4 bedroom, 5 bath Mediterranean style villa with a large pool and shaded gazebo. It is one of the largest luxury villas available to private guests on the island of St. John. Solaris was architect-designed and was finished by St. john's leading builder in 1990. Its design is tropical architecture at its best-white stucco with red roofs built around a courtyard, sliding glass doors in each suite and spacious covered decks. The grounds are attractively landscaped with tropical flowering plants. The property is bordered by bougainvillea and oleander-filled gardens. (Guests are invited to enjoy seasonal tropical fruits from Solaris' banana, papaya, orange, and lime trees.) The four separate suites insure complete privacy for several families or couples vacationing together. Designed to be comfortable and luxuriously private for one to four couples, the villa can also provide a vacation retreat for larger groups (up to ten people) with its well-spaced living areas.
LIVING AREAS Solaris is built around a spacious 1500 square foot courtyard with the main living area (Great Room) to the South, and separate bath-bedroom suites a mahogany serving top with internally lighted glass tiles beneath. The cook top stove with solid disc burners allows the host or hostess to face the dining room and enjoy conversations with guests while preparing a meal. A custom-built mahogany appliance garage, pull-out bookshelves with an ample supply of cookbooks help make the kitchen pleasing to use. The kitchen has many amenities to make cooking and dining a pleasure, including a Cuisinart, espresso and cappuccino machines, microwave, dishwasher and disposal. Dansk dinnerware graces the glass-topped dining table which comfortably seats ten. The courtyard has an additional outdoor dining area with an ample umbrella table ideally suited to alfresco dining by the elegant fountain.

BEDROOMS

Each of Solaris' four large (1 6' x 15') bedrooms is unique in decor and ambiance. All of the bedrooms are situated to catch the prevailing breezes. In addition, most also have romantic Casablanca ceiling fans. Comforters are provided for that rare cool night. All bedrooms are screened, with ample closet and dresser space. Each bedroom has its own private bathroom. A hair dryer is included in each bathroom for the convenience of Solaris’ guests.

Solaris' master bedroom suite with its blue, mauve, and rose accents has a separate bedroom and bath located off its own private living room. The bedroom features a queen-sized bed, and a breathtaking view of the sea from its deck overlooking the pool. Its sitting room has a comfortable conversation area including lovely Henry Link rattan furniture complemented by soft springtime colors. The sitting room sofa opens into a double bed. A spacious table functions as a desk or game table. A second VCR and large color TV are provided, as well as fax and answering machines.

A two bedroom suite on the east side features an upstairs bedroom with two twin beds, deck, and private bathroom including a walled, outdoor shower with complete privacy. The upper bedroom suite is accented by rich emerald and crisp white hues, reflected in the original decorations and paintings. Down a short flight of stairs is another bedroom suite with blue-green accents. It features two twin beds, white wicker furniture, and an elegant mahogany-trimmed bathroom with custom turquoise tile highlighting the entrance to its diffuse glass-walled shower. From the semi-outdoor shower, intriguing narrow archer slits provide dramatic sea views, yet maintain privacy. The downstairs bedroom is accented by original Carribean paintings and other artwork. Each of the bedrooms has sliding glass doors opening onto its own individual balcony with lounge chairs and tables for private enjoyment of the gorgeous ocean views. The balconies connect down to the pool area along cloistered walkways. Up a few stairs from the main courtyard is a fourth bedroom featuring a queen-sized bed, double dresser, desk vanity and private bath. The harmonious pallet of subdued tropical colors and rich atmosphere combine to make this bedroom a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing living area. The glass doors slide open to the breeze and a view of the sea. A private garden and patio area complete this final, elegantly separate living area to Solaris. Solaris features modern rattan furniture throughout.

SWIMMING POOL

Amongst lavish tropical gardens with fruit trees and colorful blossoms stretches an enormous glistening 60' pool framed by graceful palm trees. Suitable for both lap swimming as well as more leisurely water activities, the pool has its own waterfall and adjoining spacious (15' x 12') gazebo with mini refrigerator and porta bar, for enjoyment of cool drinks and picnics while overlooking both the pool and ocean. The pool has its own sizable (27'xlO') patio area where ample water equipment and floats are provided as are loungers for sunning and reading.

AMENITIES

Solaris' Great Room boasts an extraordinary high-tech entertainment center-equipped with large color TV, VCR and video library, deluxe Sony audio center with CD player, cassette tape deck, AM/FM receiver, and studioquality speakers. An extensive and eclectic CD library enhances the pleasure of Solaris' guests. Audiophiles are welcome to use Solaris'studio-quality tape deck to reproduce their personal or Solaris' CDs onto tape cassettes for personal use; blank tapes are provided for this purpose.

For those who want to enjoy a carefree Caribbean vacation without compromising modern communications technology, Solaris provides a state-ofthe-art fax machine, photo copier, and answering machine. Also provided is a fully-equipped Macintosh personal computer with internal hard drive and high speed data modem. Although a wide variety of programs are provided, guests are welcome to bring their own diskettes.

A collection of games (Scruples, Monopoly, Scrabble, Backgammon, playing cards, Bingo, checkers, Yahtzee, Chess and a variety of card games and puzzles) are provided. Ample reading material on St. John as well as a selection of contemporary novels are provided.

Mid week maid service is provided for the convenience of Solaris' guests.

Solaris comes complete with gas grill, beach towels, and picnic coolers. Although snorkeling gear is not provided, rentals can be easily arranged at one of Cruz Bay's four dive shops.
